Cummins Inc. in Darlington, UK, invites a Hosted Finance Placement Student to join our Finance team for a 12-month placement starting Summer 2027.

You will learn how a global manufacturing leader operates and gain hands-on experience in reporting, analysis and financial processes. Key tasks include month-end close support, creating dashboards in Power BI, Excel reporting, and contributing to process improvements with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Excellent IT skills, especially Excel.
• Willingness to challenge the norm and seek improvements.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools like Zoom and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close activities, journal prep, reconciliations and reporting.
• Develop reports and dashboards using Excel and Power BI; collaborate with Finance and other functions.
• Assist with process improvements to automate and standardise finance tasks.
• Contribute to financial summaries for management reviews and presentations.
• Collaborate with other placement students on site projects and community engagement.
• Take ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality work to deadlines.
