Job summary

Merchant Taylors’ School is seeking a Finance Performance Analyst to join our Finance team. The role focuses on delivering monthly management accounts, variance analyses and insightful financial reporting to support strategic decisions.

You will work with budget holders, assist with budgets, cashflow forecasts and longer-term planning, and help with year-end processes. Apart from strong Excel skills, accounting systems experience and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or AAT) with at least two years in finance or management accounting.
• Strong Excel and accounting systems experience.
• Clear communicator with ability to explain financial information.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial reports and variance analysis.
• Monitoring income and expenditure against budgets, providing clear commentary and financial insights.
• Working with departmental budget holders to support effective financial management.
• Assisting with annual budgets, cashflow forecasts and longer-term financial planning.
• Supporting financial modelling and analysis to inform strategic decisions and investment opportunities.
• Assisting with year-end accounts, audit preparation and financial reporting.
