Job summary

SF Recruitment is assisting a Birmingham-based, growing service business to appoint a Finance & Operations Manager. The role blends finance leadership with operational support, driving structure, visibility and efficiency across the organisation.

You will work closely with the Managing Director as a key second in command, leading improvements to billing, cash collection and working capital while bridging finance with day-to-day operations to deliver measurable commercial impact.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance and operations roles with a commercial finance focus.
• Track record of improving processes and working capital.
• Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or qualified by experience; strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day Finance and Operations for the business.
• Review billing, invoicing and cash collection processes.
• Drive improvements in working capital and cash flow.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with operational teams to link finance with the wider business.
• Provide commercial insight and analysis to support decision-making.
• Prepare management information, budgets, forecasts and reporting.
• Oversee core finance processes including purchase ledger, sales ledger and payroll.
• Support the development and implementation of new processes as the business grows.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensuring timely reporting.
