Job summary

SF Partners is recruiting a Finance Manager for a fast-growing technology and product business based in Birmingham. You will lead the day-to-day finance function across UK and US entities, owning financial reporting, cash-flow forecasting, controls and compliance while driving systems and insight to support growth.

The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with a strong academic background, excellent analytical ability and advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and commentary
• Manage cash-flow forecasting, banking and treasury
• Oversee VAT, payroll, supplier payments, credit control, AP and AR
• Maintain ledgers and complete reconciliations for bank, card and payments
• Support inventory accounting across raw materials, WIP and finished goods
• Strengthen financial controls and ensure audit readiness
• Improve finance processes, reporting and automation
• Provide financial analysis and KPI reporting to senior leadership
• Support fundraising, due diligence and wider commercial projects
• Collaborate with external advisers on UK and US compliance

SF Partners is recruiting a Finance Manager for an ambitious, fast-growing technology and product business based in Birmingham.

This is a broad role with responsibility for the day-to-day finance function across UK and US entities. Working closely with senior leadership, you will take ownership of financial reporting, cash-flow forecasting, controls and compliance while helping to improve the systems and insight supporting the business’s continued growth.

The business is open to experienced industry candidates and high-calibre first-time movers from practice. A strong academic background is important, alongside excellent technical and analytical ability.

The role

• Produce monthly management accounts, including the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and supporting commentary.
• Manage cash-flow forecasting, banking and treasury requirements.
• Oversee VAT, payroll, supplier payments, credit control, AP and AR.
• Maintain accurate ledgers and complete bank, card and payment-platform reconciliations.
• Support inventory accounting across raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
• Strengthen financial controls and ensure the business remains audit-ready.
• Improve finance processes, reporting and automation.
• Provide financial analysis and KPI reporting to senior leadership.
• Support fundraising, due diligence and wider commercial projects.
• Work with external advisers on UK and US compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.

• Ambitious, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced SME.

First-time movers from practice are encouraged to apply, particularly those with audit experience across manufacturing, engineering, technology or product-based businesses. Exposure to stock, WIP, long-term contracts and financial controls would be particularly relevant.

Experience of Xero or QuickBooks, ecommerce, international entities, R&D tax relief or fundraising would be useful but is not essential.
