Job summary

Kainos is seeking a Finance Operations Analyst to own day-to-day financial processes within the Healthcare Sector. You will drive month-end closings, forecast revenue, and analyze profitability to support decision-making and growth.

You will collaborate with delivery teams and management to implement process improvements, manage costs, and ensure accurate financial reporting. A strong Excel skill set and effective communication are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Drive month-end closure improvements, including timesheets, invoicing, and P&L narratives.
  • Analyze margins, utilisation, and non-project time; implement improvements with operations manager.
  • Oversee 3rd party costs, invoicing and rebilling to customers per contracts.
  • Review backlog for errors and take corrective action.
  • Prepare data for account reviews and present trends to SLT for actions.
  • Lead on revenue forecasting to improve sector profitability.
  • Drive sector process improvements and KPI data analyses.
  • Support staffing with utilization analytics and partner cost structures.

As a Finance Operations Analyst at Kainos, you will own and lead the management of the day-to-day financial processes within the Healthcare Sector.

This will drive improvements to processes including sales, revenue forecasting, month-end closure and analysis, profitability and working capital etc. The role will support the management team and wider business unit improving data output and timely business decision making.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
Month end – backlog
  • Driving compliance and improvement of the month end closure process including, but not limited to, timesheet submissions, invoicing and P&L narratives
  • Analysis of margins, effective rate, utilisation, non-project time etc. Identify any issues and make recommendations for improvements. Work with the operations manager to implement improvements.
  • Own oversight of all 3rd party costs, invoicing and rebilling to customers as per contracts
  • Review backlog for errors, identify issues and take corrective action
Account reviews
  • Prepare data for account reviews, identify trends, challenge delivery managers and use the output to drive business improvements.
  • Collate reporting outcomes from account reviews and prepare summary data for the SLT
Revenue and Profit Forecasting
  • Lead on initiatives to drive improvements to monthly sector revenue forecasting
  • Provide analysis and interpretation of data, effective rate, utilisation etc that will feed into the profit forecast cycle
Process improvements
  • Manage and develop relationships within the Healthcare sector delivery teams to drive process improvements for example; revenue forecasting, WIP etc.
  • Drive analysis on KPI data, present findings and recommendations to the Operations Manager/Sector leadership team and take corrective action(s)
  • Contribute to the development of sector strategy, leveraging financial insights to drive business growth.
Staffing
  • Analyse staff utilisation (current and forecasted) providing support for corrective action
  • Understand partner agreements, cost/sell rates and invoicing from partners to provide guidance and challenge to delivery teams
  • Build and manage relationships with other teams for example, Central Services
Other
  • Lead continuous improvement and refinement of operational processes within Healthcare and engage with other sectors to identify and implement best practice across the BU
  • Other ad hoc financial and operational tasks as they arise
Minimum (Essential) Requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience in leading financial operations and process improvement initiatives

Desirable
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Professional Services or Finance Team environment
  • Strong commercial awareness within a professional services environment
  • Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA etc) or equivalent relevant experience
