Job summary

Kainos, a leading technology and digital services company, is seeking a Financial Operations Analyst to support the Operations Manager with day-to-day financial processes in the BU, including revenue reporting and P&L analysis.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to monitor KPIs, drive profitability, and contribute to process improvements while developing your analytical skills in a collaborative, people-first culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Professional Services or Finance Team environment.
• Excellent Excel skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to build relationships across the business and communicate clearly.
• Willingness to learn and adopt new processes.
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support revenue forecasting and monthly P&L reviews with the Operations Manager.
• Provide KPI analysis (margins, rates, project health) and present insights.
• Monitor staff utilisation and assist with corrective actions as needed.
• Analyze non-project time and perform WIP reconciliations.
• Collaborate with PMO and central teams to improve processes.

Job Profile Description

As a Financial Operations Analyst at Kainos, you will support the Operations Manager in the management of the day-to-day operational processes within the Business Unit (BU). This will involve the support of the management team and wider BU including revenue reporting, P&L analysis, process improvements, profitability and other KPIs.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Working with the Operations Manager to support revenue forecasting process, including effective rates and BU performance analysis (Monthly P&L review)
• Providing analysis on KPI data (margins; effective rates; fixed fee projects health) and present findings to the Operations Manager
• Tracking staff utilisation and providing support for corrective action where appropriate
• Analysing of all non-project time;
• WIP analysis and follow up with relevant BU;
• Backlog reconciliations and other various reports;
• Working with PMO on PSA projects set up issues;
• Supporting the Operations Manager in liaising with Central Teams within the business
• Supporting continuous improvement and refinement of operational and commercial processes

Minimum (Essential) Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Professional Services or Finance Team environment
• Excel advanced competency
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Demonstrable ability to develop relations across different parts of the business
• Willingness to learn new things
• Excellent communication skills
• An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
• A positive "can do" attitude

Desirable

• Power BI experience
• Newly qualified accountant (CA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA etc) or equivalent relevant experience desirable
