Job summary

Manpower in Wallingford, Oxfordshire is seeking a part-time Finance Manager to lead and develop the finance function, delivering accurate reporting, strong controls, and confident decision-making at group level.

The role is 3 days a week (Wed, Thu, Fri), 9am-5pm. One day can be worked from home but it must be Thursday. ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with strong accounting, budgeting and cash flow skills are expected.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or qualified by significant relevant experience).
• Strong technical accounting ability with analytical thinking and commercial judgement.
• Experience delivering financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance function across the company, including line and performance management.
• Prepare regular management accounts for group companies and provide clear financial insight.
• Manage budgets and cash flow, including complex inter-company arrangements.
• Oversee credit control and proactive financial risk management.
• Drive continuous improvement in finance systems and processes.
• Support robust month and quarter-end processes to ensure controls remain strong.
• Collaborate with auditors and external stakeholders, ensuring statutory requirements are met.
• Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to support strategic actions within the corporate plan.

My client, a nonprofit making values-led organisation in Wallingford, Oxfordshire is looking for a part-time Qualified Finance Manager to lead and develop the finance function - helping deliver accurate reporting, strong controls, and confident decision-making at group level.

Work schedule: 3 days a week - Wed, Thursday and Friday, 9am - 5pm. One day can be worked from home but it must be the Thursday.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead and develop the finance function across the company, including line and performance management
• Prepare regular management accounts for group companies and provide clear financial insight
• Manage budgets and cash flow, including complex inter-company arrangements
• Oversee credit control, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts and proactive financial risk management
• Drive continuous improvement in finance systems and processes
• Support robust month and quarter-end processes to ensure controls remain strong and information is accurate
• Collaborate with auditors and external stakeholders, and ensure statutory requirements are met (working closely with the Finance Manager - Service Charges)
• Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to support strategic actions within the corporate plan

What you'll bring:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or qualified by significant relevant experience)
• Strong technical accounting ability, analytical thinking, and commercial judgement
• Experience delivering financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Proven ability to build and develop teams, with a collaborative leadership style
• Confidence working with senior leadership and translating finance into practical guidance

Salary offered is c£40k, pro rata c£24k, 9am - 5pm, 3 days a week - Wed, Thursday and Friday, One day can be worked from home but it must be the Thursday. F-T 27 days and bank holidays (p/t 16 days plus 5 bank holidays) life assurance and company pension, and an excellent working environment in the Office with the team plus parking.
