Job summary

Howett Thorpe, Guildford-based, is seeking a Part Time Finance Manager to join a driven business offering a flexible hybrid role. The position is 22 hours per week across 4 days and reports to the CEO.

You will own the finance function, manage one staff member, and oversee payroll, pensions, cash flow, and financial controls while driving improvements. Fully qualified or QBE candidates with Xero experience and strong communication are welcome.

• Xero experience would be beneficial.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day finance function and provide financial leadership.
• Prepare and present monthly management accounts, financial reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Oversee payroll, pensions, cash flow management and financial controls.
• Support strategic planning with accurate financial insight and analysis.
• Review and improve financial systems, processes and reporting capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls.
• Build relationships with senior leadership and non-finance staff.
• Develop finance team members and drive continuous improvement across finance operations.

Part Time Finance Manager - About The Role

In this role you will be managing 1 member of staff and will be reporting into the CEO. You will take full ownership of the finance function and your responsibilities will be:

• Lead the day-to-day finance function and provide financial leadership to the organisation.
• Prepare and present monthly management accounts, financial reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Oversee payroll, pensions, cash flow management and financial controls.
• Support strategic planning through the provision of accurate financial insight and analysis.
• Review and improve financial systems, processes and reporting capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, governance standards and internal controls.
• Build effective relationships with senior leadership, trustees and non-finance stakeholders.
• Support and develop finance team members while fostering a collaborative working environment.
• Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives across finance operations.

The successful Part Time Finance Manager will have:

• Previous experience in a similar position
• Fully qualified/QBE candidates will be considered
