Job summary

Howett-Thorpe Recruitment Consultants Limited in Guildford is seeking a Part Time Finance Manager to join a driven, flexible team. The role is offered on a hybrid basis and requires 22 hours per week, ideally spread across four days.

You will lead the day-to-day finance function, manage one staff member, report to the CEO, and deliver monthly management accounts, budgets, cash flow, and controls while driving continuous improvements and financial insight.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a finance function and managing a small team.
• Experience with Xero and financial systems is beneficial.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day finance function and provide financial leadership.
• Prepare and present monthly management accounts, financial reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Oversee payroll, pensions, cash flow management and financial controls.
• Support strategic planning through accurate financial insight and analysis.
• Review and improve financial systems, processes and reporting capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, governance standards and internal controls.
• Build effective relationships with senior leadership, trustees and non-finance stakeholders.
• Support and develop finance team members while fostering a collaborative working environment.
• Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives across finance operations.

Part Time Finance Manager - About The Role

In this role you will be managing 1 member of staff and will be reporting into the CEO. You will take full ownership of the finance function and your responsibilities will be:

• Lead the day-to-day finance function and provide financial leadership to the organisation.
• Prepare and present monthly management accounts, financial reports, budgets and forecasts.

The successful Part Time Finance Manager will have:

• Previous experience in a similar position
• Fully qualified/QBE candidates will be considered
