Element are pleased to have been engaged by a global company in Radstock for the appointment of a Finance Manager, on a part time basis. This role is 30 hours across the week, and sitting with a close knit finance team.
Role & Responsibilities
- Improve and maintain efficient accounting processes and controls
- Prepare monthly journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process alongside senior management
- Monitor financial performance and provide analysis and insights to support decisions
- Manage cash flow and working capital, including rolling forecasts
- Act as the main contact for the Holding company, auditors, and external accountants
- Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and accurate submissions
- Support strategic planning with clear, data-driven financial input
- Keep financial records in line with best practice and internal policies
Key Characteristics- Solid technical accounting background with full AAT qualification (or equivalent)
- Proficient in Sage and advanced Microsoft Excel
- Confident preparing financial statements, management accounts, and VAT returns
- Hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Strong skills in bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Experience with annual budgeting and monthly cash flow forecasting
- High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities
- Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Effective communicator with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working with external auditors and supporting or guiding junior team members
