Job summary

McHale Komatsu in Redditch is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead and develop the finance team and oversee day-to-day accounts, month-end, cash management and controls.

The role reports to the Finance Director and involves collaboration with the Financial Controller to deliver reliable financial services across the business. Excellent people management and operational finance experience are essential.

Qualifications

• A recognised professional accountancy qualification or substantial experience with a relevant finance qualification.
• Extensive experience in a busy finance function with day-to-day operations.
• Proven track record in leading, managing and developing a finance team.
• Strong knowledge of purchase/sales ledgers, banking, reconciliations and general accounting processes.
• Experience coordinating month-end processes and delivering accurate information to deadlines.
• Experience managing workloads, prioritisation, performance and service standards.
• Experience improving finance processes, systems and ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the finance team and set objectives and service standards.
• Plan workloads to ensure coverage and timely completion of activities.
• Coordinate month-end timetable with reconciliations and supporting information.
• Review information quality for management accounts and group reporting.
• Oversee cash-management activities including payments and receipts.
• Monitor debtors/creditors and collection activity with escalation as needed.
• Support budgets, forecasts and departmental priorities with the Finance Director.
• Collaborate with Financial Controller on reporting, controls and technical accounting.
• Ensure financial controls and delegated authorities are understood and followed.
• Identify improvements to systems, workflows and ways of working.
