Job summary

Serco’s UK Finance Global Finance Services (GFS) Hub is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee a cross-functional team and deliver accurate month-end reporting across c.80 contracts and £2.4bn revenue. The role blends on-site and offshore resources, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, with a focus on control and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/ACMA or equivalent.
• Experience delivering monthly financial reporting in a complex environment.
• Strong control- and process-orientation with best-practice mindset.
• Experience leading onshore and offshore teams.
• Excellent stakeholder relationships with Finance and non-Finance teams.
• Continuous improvement mindset and adaptability to ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead onshore and offshore Financial Accountants to deliver month-end close.
• Own month-end close across cost and revenue streams.
• Review and approve material accounting adjustments.
• Support Senior Finance Managers in results reporting.
• Manage aged balance sheet items and drive resolution with stakeholders.
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations comply with Serco manual.
• Collaborate with operational teams to improve processes.
• Drive continuous improvement in Finance processes.
• Partner with other Finance Managers to ensure standardisation and control.
