Job summary

Adele Carr Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Finance Manager for a Widnes-based manufacturing business. The role offers ownership of the finance function, leading a small team and delivering accurate reporting to support commercial decisions.

You will oversee management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow, strengthen controls and partner with senior management to drive performance. Flexible working options available with early finish Fridays.

Qualifications

• Qualified by experience or formal accounting qualification.

• Experience as Finance Manager or Financial Controller.
• Experience in manufacturing sector preferred.
• Strong management accounting & financial reporting skills.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting & cash flow management.
• Knowledge of stock accounting, product costing & margin analysis.
• Experience leading or developing finance teams.
• Excellent Excel & financial systems skills.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
• Proactive, hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day finance function and small team.
• Produce monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, analysis).
• Own month-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management activities.
• Provide variance analysis and commercial insight to drive performance.
• Analyse profitability, costs, stock and margins.
• Manage working capital, debtors, creditors, banking and cash.
• Support strategic planning with financial modelling.
• Maintain robust financial controls and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors and banks.
• Identify and implement finance system/process improvements.
• Mentor junior finance staff.
