Reed is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the finance function for a long-established, employee-owned manufacturing business in Liverpool. You will report to the Managing Director, oversee one AP/AR team member, and drive robust financial reporting and insights.

The role offers strategic responsibility, a full-time office-based work pattern, and a structured handover from the retiring Finance Manager to ensure a smooth transition.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' accounting and finance experience.
• Experience preparing management accounts.
• Sage 50 Accounts & Payroll experience.
• Payroll processing experience.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and SUMIFS.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, reconciliations and month-end procedures.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, P&L and balance sheet reporting.
• Cashflow forecasting, budgeting and financial planning.
• Month-end processes including accruals and prepayments.
• VAT returns, payroll and pension administration.
• Bank reconciliations, credit control and cash management.
• Fixed asset register maintenance.
• Costing, pricing and margin analysis.
• Audit preparation and liaison with external accountants.
• Managing and supporting one direct report.
• Maintaining financial controls and reporting processes.

Finance Manager

Location: Liverpool (L6)
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (30-minute lunch)
Working Pattern: Full-time, Office-Based
Reporting To: Managing Director

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a long-established, employee-owned manufacturing business in Liverpool.

Due to the planned retirement of the current Finance Manager, we are seeking a trustworthy, confident and approachable finance professional to take ownership of the finance function. A structured handover and transition period will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager or someone ready to step into their first management role.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will oversee the finance function, manage one Accounts Payable & Receivable team member and provide valuable financial insight to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
