Job summary

Asda Stores Ltd is seeking a Finance Manager – Financial Controls to strengthen the financial control framework within our trading accounts. You will oversee the timely production of financial information, ensure policy compliance, and coach a small team to support accurate reporting.

You will collaborate with Traders/Buyers and Commercial Finance to assess risks, drive process improvements, and deliver reliable forecasts.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with post qualification experience (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Strong technical accounting background.
• Leadership experience including coaching and developing others.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly financial information for internal/external reporting.
• Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and procedures and maintain the financial control environment.
• Manage and develop a team (1 qualified accountant and 1 trainee accountant).
• Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency and control.
• Advise Traders/Buyers on risk and financial control implications of new initiatives.
• Review month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
