Job summary

Sharpsmart UK is expanding its Finance team, seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join the business on a hybrid basis between Spennymoor and home office. Reporting to the Finance Controller, you will oversee end-to-end billing, income and revenue operations and drive commercial insight across the UK.

You will lead a team, partner with stakeholders, support budgeting and forecasting, and push process improvements to enhance financial performance.

Qualifications

• ACA qualification or degree in finance, accounting or business.
• Minimum of three years' practical finance experience.
• Experience leading, supervising or developing a finance team.
• Strong experience in billing, income, revenue or finance operations.
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial planning experience.
• Excellent analytical ability, attention to detail and problem solving.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for senior stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with finance systems.

Sharpsmart Finance team is expanding, we are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our business, reporting directly to the Finance Controller, this hybrid role will be based between our Spennymoor office and your home office.

You will play a key role in overseeing end-to-end finance operations, leading the Billing, Income and Revenue function, and supporting financial planning, analysis and continuous improvement across the UK business. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys combining operational leadership with financial insight, strategic planning and process improvement.

The role

As Finance Manager, you will lead the Billing, Income and Revenue team and take responsibility for key finance processes, controls and performance. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, provide clear reporting and insight to senior leaders, and identify opportunities to improve processes and commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, coaching and developing the Billing, Income and Revenue team.
• Overseeing end-to-end billing, income and revenue processes, ensuring accuracy, robust controls and timely delivery.
• Producing financial reporting, analysis and performance overviews for senior management and leadership teams.
• Reviewing departmental and customer performance to identify trends, risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activity.
• Identifying and implementing improvements to income, billing and revenue strategies.
• Driving continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, policies and procedures.
• Leading and contributing to finance projects and wider strategic initiatives.
• Building effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Collaborating with Finance Managers across the wider international group to share best practice.
• Contributing to ongoing UK finance strategy and planning.

About you

You will be a confident, commercially aware finance professional with strong analytical skills and proven leadership experience. You will be comfortable managing competing priorities, working with detailed financial information and translating complex data into clear, practical insight.

We are looking for someone with:

• ACA qualification, or a degree in a relevant finance, accounting or business-related discipline.
• A minimum of three years' practical finance experience.
• Previous experience leading, supervising or developing a finance team.
• Strong experience within billing, income, revenue or wider finance operations.
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial planning experience.
• Excellent analytical ability, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to analyse financial and operational data and turn findings into practical improvement actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to work with senior stakeholders.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, and experience of finance systems.
