Michael Page is seeking a Finance Manager for a permanent role in Rochester, Kent. You will report to the Financial Controller and oversee daily accounting processes, develop the Finance team, and implement systems to support growth while meeting management deadlines.

Your responsibilities include monthly management accounts, month-end close, balance sheet reviews, and providing financial commentary to aid strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and month-end activities.
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ability to produce high-quality commentary on financial performance.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and departmental P&L and balance sheet.
• Complete month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and adjustments.
• Ensure accuracy of reporting through reconciliation of control accounts and journal entries.
• Provide commentary on variances to budget/forecast and support strategic decisions.
• Assist year-end audit and financial aspects of the audit.
• Develop relationships with stakeholders to integrate financial considerations into ops strategy.

The position is focused on developing the Finance team and implementing systems to meet the evolving needs of the business as it grows, ensuring key targets and management deadlines are met in a dynamic working environmentClient DetailsThe organisation operates in the Business Services industry in the Medway towns area.DescriptionThis role will involve assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Finance Team and ensuring that the Finance Department runs smoothly.Prepare and review monthly management accounts to include departmental profit and loss statements and balance sheet.Review and completion of month end processes, in line with management timetable, including monthly accruals, prepayments, depreciation and all other month end adjustments as required.Ensure accuracy of financial reporting with review and reconciliation of all control accounts, including actioning necessary journal entries and nominal analysis.Provide high level supporting commentary on the financial performance, highlighting variance to budget and forecasts and support strategic decision making.Preparation of annual budgets and any re-forecasting as required. This will include working alongside other department heads to gather required information.Work with departmental managers and Directors to ensure accuracy of reporting and identify opportunities for cost savings.Support and provide training to members of the team to ensure they progress with their development.Analyse revenue streams and project works to provide financial commentary and identify opportunities for margin enhancements.Ensure knowledge is up to date on financial regulations and accounting standards.Support the year-end financial audit and the financial elements of the audit.Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to ensure that financial considerations are integrated into Operational strategies.Provide assistance, and work alongside, the central credit control department to monitor accounts and liaise with customers to ensure monies are received within agreed terms.
