Job summary

Flora and Co Associates recruiting a Finance Manager to join the Redditch-based finance team. Initial 6-month FTC with potential to go permanent, hybrid working.

The role combines hands-on management accounting with leading a team across accounting and transactional finance. You will produce monthly management accounts, review P&L and balance sheet, provide FP&A insights, and support the wider finance function while developing and motivating your team to meet deadlines and drive process

Responsibilities

Finance Manager

Redditch | £60,000 | 6 Month FTC with potential to go permanent | Hybrid

We are recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a growing organisation based in Redditch on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to become permanent.

This is a broad Finance Manager role, taking responsibility for the management accounts for one entity alongside managing a team of five, ranging from Management Accountant, Financial Accountants through to Accounts Assistants.

The business is looking for someone who is technically capable but, equally importantly, a good people manager. You'll be joining a business with a strong focus on culture, so they're looking for someone approachable and supportive who can build relationships with their team while still being confident holding people accountable when needed.

The role will include:

• Producing and reviewing monthly management accounts for one entity
• Reviewing the P&L and balance sheet, ensuring accuracy and investigating any issues
• Incorporating commentary and insight from the FP&A team into monthly reporting
• Managing a team of five across Management Accounting and transactional finance
• Reviewing the work of the team and ensuring month-end deadlines are met
• Supporting, developing and motivating the team while giving them autonomy to manage their own responsibilities
• Working closely with the wider finance team and senior stakeholders
• Supporting improvements to processes and ways of working
• Supporting statutory accounts where required

About you:

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Strong management accounts experience
• Confident reviewing a P&L and balance sheet
• Previous experience managing a finance team
• A supportive but confident management style - someone who trusts their team, recognises good work and is also comfortable addressing issues when needed
• Strong people and communication skills
• Organised with good time management and the ability to manage competing deadlines
• Statutory accounts experience would be beneficial but is not essential

The business offers a good level of flexibility and hybrid working and is particularly focused on finding someone who will fit well within the existing team and culture.

They are ideally looking for someone who can start relatively quickly, although they are willing to wait for the right person.

Salary: £60,000
