Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group is recruiting for a Finance Manager in Portsmouth for a small-to-medium manufacturing business. The role is predominantly office-based with around 25 hours per week and a flexible pattern to align with month-end and deadlines.

You will manage core ledgers, VAT, payroll liaison, and month-end close using Xero and advanced Excel, while driving process improvements across the finance function.

Qualifications

• Hands-on accounting or finance management experience in SME
• Strong Xero knowledge and advanced Excel capability
• Experience with invoice discounting / asset-based lending is advantageous
• VAT knowledge including VAT returns
• Organised and autonomous with process improvement mindset

Responsibilities

• Oversee core sales and purchase ledgers, maintaining accurate records
• Support cash collection and supplier payments
• Manage day-to-day administration and reconciliation of invoice discounting facility
• Coordinate the month-end process including journals and management accounts
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with payroll/provider year-end audits
