Job summary

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.
• Experience in a broad finance role, ideally in an SME or hands-on environment.
• Strong experience across month-end, reconciliations and statutory reporting.
• Confident preparing and maintaining cashflow forecasts.
• Practical, organised approach with ability to manage deadlines.
• Clear communicator, comfortable working with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
• Proactive and happy to get involved in the detail while keeping sight of the wider business.

Job description

An Oxford-based SME is looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to join its finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director. You’ll take ownership of core financial reporting and control, while helping the business maintain a clear view of its performance and cash position.

This role would suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys combining accurate, timely reporting with practical support for the wider business.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end process, ensuring journals, accruals, prepayments and management information are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving differences.
• Oversee statutory reporting, including the preparation of statutory accounts and support for the year-end audit.
• Manage cashflow forecasting and provide regular updates on cash position and working capital.
• Maintain robust financial controls and support compliance with relevant accounting standards and requirements.
