The Role

Reporting directly to our CFO and working closely with the senior leadership team, you’ll be shaping smart decision-making, driving financial excellence, and helping steer our growth. You’ll lead on everything from group reporting and cashflow modelling to commercial analysis and operational improvement, while mentoring a small, capable finance team.

You’ll be the go-to for all things finance, both internally and externally, and you’ll do it in a culture that trusts you to deliver flexibly and values the impact you make.

What we’re Looking For:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 2+ years post-qualification experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a group reporting role within an SME
  • Background in business services with varied practice experience
  • Understanding of SaaS and subscription-based business models.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge.
  • Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive, positive energy who enjoys being hands-on and collaborative

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Knowledge

  • Lead and review statutory consolidated reporting (IFRS) for year-end and interims, including detailed notes for our AIM-listed entity.
  • Oversee the preparation of UK subsidiary statutory accounts (IFRS).
  • Liaise with Finance manager in Portugal, to incorporate the Portuguese subsidiary figures into the group accounting.
  • Manage the year-end audit process.
  • Calculate and post provisions for deferred tax.
  • Tax calculations and R&D tax credit claims.

Financial Operations & Management

  • Manage and mentor a team of three direct reports within the accounts department.
  • Review and authorise fortnightly payment runs.
  • Oversee VAT returns prepared by the finance assistant.
  • Review monthly payroll submissions and related reporting, working closely with office manager.
  • Supervise the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Drive integration of systems to enable efficiency in the finance function.

Commercial Finance & Analytics

  • Support the preparation of cash flow forecasts.
  • Discuss revenues with project team leads for inclusion in revenue forecasts.
  • Review monthly revenue and analyse new customer contracts.
  • Build financial models to assess and drive customer profitability.
  • Build models driven from timesheet reports to understand headcount utilisation.
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis and reporting as required by senior leadership.
