What you’ll do:

As Finance Manager youwill be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the company, leading a small finance team, and ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of financial information to the Group.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Lead, support, and develop a small team comprising an Accounts Payable Clerk and an Assistant Management Accountant.
• Allocate responsibilities and manage workloads effectively to ensure efficient and accurate transactional processing.
• Own the month-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete reporting of financial performance.
• Ensure all accounting records are maintained in accordance with applicable UK accounting standards and company policies.
• Prepare and submit monthly management accounts to Group Finance, with clear variance analysis and commentary.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and controls to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Standardise workflows and embed a strong control environment across the finance function
• Work closely with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Act as a key point of contact for Group Finance and external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, tax advisors).
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including VAT, PAYE, and other HMRC filings.
• Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors during interim and year-end audits

What you’ll need:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in a similar Finance Manager or senior finance role, ideally within a medium-sized business.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience with month-end close and management reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small team.
• Strong process orientation with a track record of driving operational improvements in finance
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with finance systems (ERP knowledge advantageous).
