Job summary

Newcastle University is recruiting for an Accountancy Assistant in the Contract Financial Management team. The role involves managing financial claims for large, multi-funder projects, advising researchers on budgeting and funding rules, and ensuring data accuracy in SAP.

The post is full-time and based on site. The successful candidate will have strong accounting experience, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards

Qualifications

• Experience reconciling financial ledgers and interpreting results.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet funder/university deadlines.
• Proficient in SAP and data reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Produce financial claims for complex projects within deadlines.
• Provide budgetary and forecast information to researchers.
• Attend project setup meetings and advise on SAP structures.
• Create and maintain SAP projects to support multi-funded awards.
• Support auditors and manage salary budget updates in SAP.
• Train and guide team members on SAP procedures and funder regulations.
