Job description

Marks Sattin Executive Search is working with a PE-Backed International B2B services business in the search for a Finance Director to work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team. This is a high-impact leadership role, offering the opportunity to lead and develop the finance function as the business continues to scale.

The Finance Director will provide senior financial leadership across the group, translating business priorities into robust financial plans while maintaining strong control over reporting, forecasting, liquidity, and cash management. Acting as a key member of the leadership team, they will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support decision-making across the business. The role carries responsibility for board and investor reporting to private equity standards, with regular exposure to senior stakeholders and investors.

A key priority for the incoming Finance Director will be the transformation and professionalisation of the finance function. The business currently relies on a number of spreadsheet-based reporting and planning processes, creating a significant opportunity for an experienced finance leader to strengthen controls, improve reporting quality, enhance management information, and implement scalable systems and processes capable of supporting future growth. As the Finance lead, you will play a central role in improving visibility, accountability, and consistency across the organisation. They will lead enhancements to financial systems, reporting, and data, ensuring the business has the infrastructure, processes, and insight required to support a growing international operation.

Uniquely, our client is open to considering an exceptional Financial Controller who is ready to step up into a Finance Director role. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of enhancing reporting, strengthening controls, and professionalising finance teams, systems, and processes within a growing business.

The ideal candidate:

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA)
• Experience as a Finance Director or Financial Controller within a PE-Backed environment, or a strong understanding of PE reporting requirements within B2B, professional services, or other people-based businesses.
• Demonstrable track record of professionalising finance teams, reporting, systems, processes, and controls.
• Strong experience delivering high-quality board reporting, investor reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and management information.
• Understanding of utilisation metrics, project-based revenues, and long-term customer contracts.
• Proven ability to lead teams through change and build scalable finance functions within growing organisations.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the credibility and gravitas to influence senior leaders, investors, and board-level stakeholders.
• Experience within an international or global business environment would be advantageous.
