Job summary

Broster Buchanan has partnered with a well-established charity in North Leeds to recruit a Head of Finance. This hybrid role combines strategic finance leadership with hands-on management of budgeting, forecasting and treasury.

Qualifications

• Full accountancy qualification and experience in a senior finance role.
• Experience leading a large financial accounting function with strong control.
• Hands-on year end, consolidation, group statutory accounts and external audit.
• Strong knowledge of FRS 102 and SORP.
• Proven line management experience and leadership.
• Ability to explain complex financial information to non-accountants.
• Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and anti-racism.
• UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budget and medium-term financial plan.
• Produce monthly group and entity management accounts with commentary.
• Maintain strong financial control framework.
• Lead year end, external audit and group/subsidiary accounts.
• Oversee treasury, including weekly cash-flow forecasting.
• Lead financial governance of housing rents and service charges.
• Review tenders and grant applications.
• Drive improvements to finance systems, data quality and reporting automation.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team.
