Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London seeks a Finance Director to lead financial planning, analysis and control from Romford. Strong construction sector experience and a proven track record with budgets, forecasts, and cash flow are essential.

You will oversee statutory reporting, management accounts, and CIS/compliance for long-term contracts. You will mentor finance and project accounting teams and drive improvements in systems and reporting workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual planning, budgeting, and rolling cash flow forecasting processes.
• Review contract Cost–Value Reconciliations (CVRs), work in progress (WIP), and project margins.
• Monitor financial performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational reporting.
• Oversee statutory reporting, management accounts, and financial/audit compliance.
• Ensure strict adherence to construction–specific regulations, tax requirements (e.g. CIS), and long–term contract accounting rules.
• Manage working capital, credit control, and treasury/cash management across multi–entity portfolios.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and project accounting teams.
• Drive continuous improvement in finance systems, controls, and reporting workflows.

Core Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Oversee statutory reporting, management accounts, and financial/audit compliance.
• Ensure strict adherence to construction–specific regulations, tax requirements (such as CIS – Construction Industry Scheme in the UK), and long–term contract accounting rules.
• Manage working capital, credit control, and treasury/cash management across multi–entity portfolios.

Leadership & Systems

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and project accounting teams.
