Spinwell is recruiting for a Finance Business Partner for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

Responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner

1. Support the Head of Finance, Finance managers, and departmental teams by providing high-quality, flexible, and professional finance support, adapting to service priorities and current requirements.
2. Act as Finance Business Partner for the relevant service area and develop in-depth knowledge of the overall service.
3. Provide robust financial advice to senior stakeholders, present information to Departmental Management teams, project delivery boards, and other meetings on financial matters related to the specific area of work.
4. Work independently on a wide range of service-based financial issues, offering suggestions for resolution.
5. Represent the Head of Finance and Finance managers at service-related meetings in their absence.

Skills and Experience of the Finance Business Partner

1. CCAB or CIMA accountancy qualification, or part-qualified with active study, or significant accountancy experience in a similar role.
2. Good knowledge of local government finance, budgeting, and accounting, with experience providing high-level advice and support on complex financial and service issues.
3. Excellent numerical and analytical skills, capable of analyzing complex financial data, developing financial management systems, and training others in their use.
4. Strong communication skills, able to present complex issues to diverse audiences, including councillors and senior officers, and build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Advanced IT skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and experience working with integrated financial systems in large organizations.
6. Experience providing financial advice to senior officers, members, and external stakeholders.
