ProTalent Limited in Brighton is seeking a Finance Business Partner (Client Advisory) to manage a portfolio of owner-managed businesses. You will translate bookkeeping outputs into actionable advice and guide clients in understanding what their numbers really mean.

The role focuses on advisory work rather than traditional bookkeeping, with dedicated teams handling operations. Expect flexitime and progression opportunities within a collaborative firm.

Formación

• Experience working in a practice with direct client responsibility.

• Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero.

Responsabilidades

Finance Business Partner (Client Advisory)
Brighton | £40,000 to £55,000 + benefits | Flexitime

If you’re an accountant who gets more out of talking a client through their numbers than producing them, this role was built for you.

My client is a modern, advisory-led accountancy practice in central Brighton. They’re hiring a Finance Business Partner to look after a portfolio of ambitious owner‑managed businesses. You’ll be the person those owners call when they want to understand what’s really going on in their business.

The key difference here is that you won’t be buried in bookkeeping or year‑end compliance. Dedicated internal teams handle bookkeeping, payroll and accounts production. Your job is to take that work and turn it into advice the client can act on.

What you’ll be doing

• Acting as the main point of contact for your own client portfolio
• Running quarterly and annual planning meetings built around the management accounts
• Explaining the numbers in plain English and helping owners make better decisions
• Spotting risks and growth opportunities before the client does
• Working with the bookkeeping, payroll and accounts teams to keep delivery on track
• Looking after the commercial side of each relationship, including renewals, billing and engagement

What they’re looking for

ACA or ACCA is welcome, but it isn’t a deal breaker. What matters more is that you’re good with clients. You’ll probably have:

• Solid practice experience with real client-facing responsibility
• Experience reviewing management accounts
• The confidence to explain financial information clearly to non‑finance people
• Good organisation skills, and you’re comfortable juggling several clients at onceXero or similar cloud accounting experience
