Job summary

phs Teacrate is seeking a Finance Business Partner to own financial operations and credit management, delivering trusted insights to senior leaders and shaping growth and profitability. Based at Southall Depot, the role involves close collaboration with the Managing Director and leading the credit control function.

You will drive budgeting, forecasting and trading reviews, provide robust analysis for pricing and capital expenditure, and ensure accurate reporting and governance.

Qualifications

• Qualified professional accountant with strong financial controls.
• Experience in a service-led business.
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, practical insight for senior stakeholders.
• Proven commercial acumen with an understanding of business drivers and KPIs.
• Experience leading, developing and motivating a team with clear KPIs.
• Willingness to travel to other phs sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Own accurate and timely financial operations including management accounts, period/year-end reporting, VAT, purchase ledger, cash flow and compliance.
• Partner with the Managing Director and leadership team to provide financial guidance and commercial insight for profitable decisions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and trading reviews with commentary on performance, variances, trends and opportunities.
• Deliver robust analysis for pricing, business cases, capex and strategic decisions with meaningful management information.
• Lead the credit control team, manage cash collection, working capital, credit risk and adherence to policies.
• Review controls and processes to improve efficiency and governance.

Are you a commercially focused finance professional who enjoys turning numbers into clear business decisions? phs Teacrate is looking for a Finance Business Partner to take ownership of finance and credit management, provide trusted insight to senior leaders and help shape the continued growth and profitability of the business.

As part of the Teacrate Leadership Team, you will combine strong financial governance with hands‑on commercial support. You will work closely with the Managing Director, lead the credit control function and ensure the business maintains accurate reporting, effective controls and a clear view of performance.

The Finance Business Partner role at phs Teacrate will involve:

• Taking ownership of accurate and timely financial operations, including management accounts, period and year-end reporting, VAT, purchase ledger, cash flow and compliance
• Partnering with the Managing Director and leadership team, providing financial guidance and commercial insight to support profitable and sustainable business decisions
• Leading budgeting, forecasting and trading reviews, with clear commentary on performance, variances, trends and opportunities
• Delivering robust analysis for pricing, business cases, capital expenditure and strategic decision‑making, while producing meaningful management information for leadership, board and Group Finance
• Leading the credit control team, managing cash collection, working capital, credit risk, bad debt exposure and adherence to corporate credit policies
• Reviewing controls and business processes to improve efficiency, strengthen governance and support profitability

The ideal candidate for a Finance Business Partner at phs Teacrate will have:

• A recognised professional accountancy qualification
• Broad financial management experience gained within a service‑led business
• Strong knowledge of financial controls, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision‑making
• The ability to translate complex financial information into clear, practical insight for senior stakeholders
• Proven commercial acumen, with a strong understanding of business drivers, financial ratios, risk and value creation
• Experience of leading, developing and motivating a team and managing performance through clear KPIs
• Confident communication and presentation skills, with the credibility to influence at all levels
• A proactive, accountable and improvement‑focused approach, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• The ability and willingness to travel to other phs sites as required
