Job Responsibilities
- Provide a full senior finance business partnering service for the activities and stakeholders you are partnering with.
- Collaborate with departments across the organisation to improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting & analysis on organisational performance.
- Drive analysis and deliver insights that link financial reports to organisational strategy.
- Deliver financial training and coaching to managers and budget delegates. Guide and support your customers throughout the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring they understand the financial reporting requirements and outputs.
- Support the development of tools for financial management and scenario planning for budget holders.
- Produce, verify, and maintain documented outputs of the planning process, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment of cross-functional plans.
- Contribute to the integration of planning and budgeting processes across the wider team.
- Add value by seeking to improve the quality and efficiency of finance business partnering practices.
- Keep abreast of external best practices and stakeholder feedback, utilizing them as appropriate.
- Support change initiatives to ensure operational, commercial, and financial targets are met.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior managers and their teams.
- Work with customers to identify financial risks and opportunities related to their activities.
- Lead tracking of financial performance against plans and forecasts, drive corrective actions when needed, and ensure alignment with organisational strategies and budgets.
- Participate in departmental and project meetings, ensuring finance presence where appropriate.
- Analyze and suggest improvements to current systems, structures, and reporting processes.
- Ensure compliance with business processes and controls by key customers.
- Deputise for Strategic Finance Business Partners as required.
- Engage in other ad hoc activities as needed.
The Successful Applicant
- Qualified member of a recognised accounting body (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Established track record of business partnering within a large, complex organisation.
- Excellent understanding of financial processes and controls.
- Proven experience of working in a matrix-managed environment.
- Effective stakeholder management and customer liaison skills.
- Business partnering experience at a senior leadership level.
