Job Description
- Provide a full senior finance business partnering service for the activities and stakeholders that you are partnering.
- Collaborate with departments across the organisation to improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting & analysis on organisational performance.
- Drive analysis and deliver insight that links financial reports to organisation strategy.
- Deliver financial training and coaching to managers and budget delegates. Guide and support your customers throughout the planning, budget, and forecasting processes. Ensure that they understand the financial reporting requirements and output.
- Support the development of tools to provide financial management and scenario planning for budget holders.
- Produce, verify, and maintain the documented outputs of the planning process, ensuring that they are accurate, consistent, and that cross-functional plans are aligned.
- Contribute effectively to the integration of planning and budgeting processes across the wider team.
- Add value to the team by seeking to improve the quality and efficiency of the Finance Business Partnering ways of working.
- Keep track of external best practices and stakeholder feedback and utilise as appropriate.
- Support change to ensure operational, commercial, and financial targets are delivered.
- Develop partnerships and maintain strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams.
- Work with your customers to identify financial risks and opportunities related to their planned activities.
- Lead on the tracking of financial performance against departmental plans and forecasts, drive for corrective action when needed, and ensure that plans remain aligned to the overarching RNLI strategy, Business Plans, and Budgets.
- Attend relevant departmental and project meetings, ensuring there is a finance presence where appropriate.
- Analyse and suggest improvements to current systems, structures, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with business processes and controls by key customers.
- Deputise for Strategic Finance Business Partners as required.
- Participate in other ad hoc activities as required.
The Successful Applicant
- Qualified member of recognised accounting body (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Established track record of Business Partnering within a large, complex organisation.
- Excellent understanding of financial processes and controls.
- Proven experience of working in a matrix-managed environment.
- Effective stakeholder management and customer liaison skills.
- Business Partnering experience at a Senior Leadership level.
