Job Description

We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team at either our Washington or Broxburn sites, with monthly travel to Spalding during month-end. This full-time, permanent role offers a salary package and the opportunity to work for a forward-thinking market leader. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing weekly P&L performance reports by site for performance reviews, including variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
  • Reconciling SAGE financial accounts with business unit P&Ls monthly, explaining deviations.
  • Providing financial insights to support site budget achievement.
  • Refreshing quarterly financial forecasts to compare expected performance against budgets.
  • Acting as a business partner to management, offering guidance and analytical support.
  • Conducting cost centre analysis during month-end or as needed.
  • Issuing weekly or ad-hoc cost centre reports to managers.
  • Preparing accruals and prepayments.
  • Reconciliating balance sheets for the business units.
  • Supporting the Senior Finance Business Partner in delivering accurate and insightful business information.
  • Reviewing and controlling supplier spend in line with Group policies.
  • Participating in ad-hoc projects within the Finance team.

Qualifications

To qualify, candidates should have:

  • Fully qualified accountant (desirable).
  • Relevant experience in a commercial or operational finance role, preferably in FMCG or similar industries.
  • Experience in data analysis and making strategic recommendations.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and legislation.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and macros.
  • Ability to interpret and present financial data effectively.
  • Previous experience in business partnering (desirable).
