Job description

Job Title: Finance Business Partner

Your new company, Hays Accountancy & Finance, is recruiting a Finance Business Partner on behalf of our client, an organization supporting individuals and families living with disabilities, autism, and brain injuries.

This role is crucial for ensuring organizational effectiveness, compliance with reporting requirements, and supervising various finance department functions, including management accounts, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Staff development and mentoring are key responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to Finance Improvement Plans for services.
  2. Assist with grant applications and claims, support grant and verification audits.
  3. Lead supplier contract reviews, renewals, and tender processes.
  4. Prepare monthly management accounts and variance reports.
  5. Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
  6. Provide project management support.
  7. Ensure statutory compliance (e.g., Companies House, Charity Commission).
  8. Promote GDPR compliance and cybersecurity within the department.
  9. Line management and staff training, mentoring, and development.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, or ACCA).
  2. Minimum 3 years' experience in a finance role within a large, diverse organization.
  3. Experience in management accounts, forecasting, and budgeting.
  4. Knowledge of ISO or other quality management systems.
Desirable:
  • Experience with grant funding, including claims and applications.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring staff.
