Our client, a global Insurance company, is seeking a Business Analyst with a strong finance systems background to join on a hybrid working contract based in London.

This role is within the Finance Change Team, focusing on the redevelopment of the OneStream Architecture, leveraging the OneStream MI solution. Responsibilities include writing requirements, acceptance criteria, validating solutions, managing product backlog, and facilitating UAT and Business Acceptance testing.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  1. Facilitate and write requirements and acceptance criteria for Epics and Stories.
  2. Ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are approved by stakeholders.
  3. Review proposed solution designs for compliance with requirements and acceptance criteria.
  4. Support formulation and acceptance of key design decisions.
  5. Validate implementation during sprint reviews and testing phases, providing feedback and raising bugs.
  6. Facilitate Data Reconciliation.
  7. Support product backlog review, prioritisation, and sizing sessions.
  8. Manage and refine the product backlog to reflect current priorities.
  9. Support and facilitate Change Requests (CRs), impact assessments, and recommendations.
  10. Conduct defect triage to correctly identify and prioritise bugs and feedback.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of project governance and lifecycle.
  • Solid analytical and organisational skills.
  • Good numerical skills and familiarity with IT platforms for finance problems.
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements, including statutory, management, or financial planning.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with third-party consultants on financial models.
  • Team player with good personal skills, pragmatism, and diplomacy.
  • Expertise in requirements, Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria specification.
  • Experience managing agile product backlogs in Scrum.
  • Knowledge of process and requirements modelling.
  • Data modelling of financial data and CUBE/Star Schema.
  • Data analysis and reconciliation skills.
  • Defect triage and bug prioritisation.
  • Experience with financial modelling and statutory reporting platforms.
Additional Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in finance software implementations and MI requirements delivery.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and EPM solutions.
  • 5+ years in a global business environment.
  • 5+ years working in Agile Scrum as a Product Owner or Business Analyst.
  • Experience with OneStream is beneficial.
  • Experience in extracting and analysing data from financial systems.
