Leading International Investment Bank is hiring an Accountant to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract at their UK branch based in London. The role offers hybrid working (3 days in the office).

Description

Reporting to the Head of Finance and working in a small, close-knit team, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for:

1. Supporting the Head of Finance and deputising in their absence.
2. Preparing the Daily P&L with analysis and commentary on variances.
3. Supporting all regulatory BoE and PRA returns.
4. Preparing financial accounting information in compliance with UK regulatory obligations.
5. Preparing Financial Statements and collaborating with auditors.
6. Supporting Corporation Tax returns and VAT reporting.
7. Quarterly VAT Return preparation and submission, adhering to VAT guidelines.
8. Investigating, documenting, and resolving queries related to accounting movements within the London Branch's Trial Balance.
9. Assisting in resolving stakeholder issues as required.
10. Monitoring and reviewing all General Ledger Accounts under the Finance Department's responsibility.
11. Ensuring departmental procedures are up to date with system and process changes.

Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous accounting experience within the banking sector.
• Knowledge of banking products and/or regulatory reporting.
• Reconciliation skills.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent experience.
• Availability to commit to a 12-month fixed-term contract.
• Availability to start in early to mid-June 2025.
• Portuguese language skills (desirable but not essential).
