Join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract at their UK branch in London. The role offers hybrid working (3 days in the office).

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Finance and working within a small, close-knit team, the Senior Accountant's responsibilities include:

1. Supporting the Head of Finance and deputising in their absence.
2. Preparing the Daily P&L with analysis and commentary on variances.
3. Supporting all regulatory BoE and PRA returns.
4. Preparing financial accounting information in compliance with UK regulatory obligations.
5. Preparing Financial Statements and collaborating with auditors.
6. Supporting Corporation Tax returns and VAT reporting.
7. Quarterly VAT return preparation and submission, adhering to VAT rules and guidelines.
8. Investigating, documenting, and resolving queries related to accounting movements within the London Branch's Trial Balance.
9. Resolving issues with stakeholders as required.
10. Monitoring and reviewing all General Ledger Accounts under the responsibility of the Finance Department.
11. Ensuring departmental procedures are up-to-date, considering system and process changes.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous accounting experience within the banking sector.
• Strong product knowledge.
• Excellent reconciliation skills.
• Strong regulatory accounting knowledge.
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Availability to commit to a 12-month fixed-term contract.
• Availability to start in early to mid-June 2025.
• Portuguese language skills are desirable but not essential.
