Job summary

The Growth Company’s Justice Services team seeks a Finance Benefit and Debt Advisor to deliver high-performance, compliant activity and excellent customer service on the FBD service. You will support offenders with financial issues, build financial capacity, and help access benefits or third-sector support.

The role requires travel between HMP Humber and Beverley Probation, and you will work with probation services to contribute to targets and service improvements, while ensuring data protection

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable or marginalised groups such as ex-offenders or those facing barriers.
• Confident communication; able to motivate and build trust across diverse backgrounds.
• Remain resilient and calm under pressure in fast-paced, target-driven environments.
• Flexibility to travel and work across settings; occasional outside-hours support.
• Manage workload independently while meeting KPIs and maintaining high service standards.
• Act with professionalism, integrity and confidentiality; respect data security.

Responsibilities

• Manage participant caseloads and support access to benefits in community and prison settings.
• Resolve complex debt issues by identifying financial barriers, negotiating with creditors, and agreeing sustainable repayment plans.
• Provide budgeting and financial guidance to help individuals manage money and daily budgeting.
• Liaise with landlords, utilities, banks, credit unions and other agencies to maintain communication.
• Build strong, motivational relationships to support informed decision making and tailored action planning.
• Deliver flexible, multichannel support (face-to-face, digital, video, telephone) to maximise accessibility.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate, compliant records.
• Collaborate with probation services and National Probation Service to contribute to targets and service improvements.
