Job summary

The Growth Company within the Justice Services team is hiring a Finance Benefit and Debt Advisor to deliver high performance and compliant activity while supporting service objectives. You will work with offenders to build financial capacity, manage debt, and access benefits through one-to-one and group sessions.

Travel between HMP Humber and Beverley Probation is required, and you will collaborate with probation services to improve financial wellbeing and rehabilitation outcomes for

Qualifications

• Case management experience in training, advice, guidance or counselling.
• Strong understanding of debt and benefits and DWP/Jobcentre Plus requirements.
• Proficient IT skills including MI systems, spreadsheets, email.
• Negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to present and network with diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of local labour markets and progression pathways.
• Understanding welfare to work principles and national standards.
• Experience working with probation, community partners and third-sector organizations.

Responsibilities

• Manage participant caseloads in community and prison settings to access benefits.
• Resolve complex debt issues by negotiating with creditors and setting repayment plans.
• Provide budgeting and financial guidance to improve personal finances.
• Liaise with landlords, utilities, banks and other agencies.
• Build motivational relationships and action plans tailored to individuals.
• Deliver multi-channel support (face to face, digital, video and telephone).
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with probation services to contribute to targets.
