Job description

Contract: Temporary or Freelance, part time

Start Date: ASAP

Location: London

Founded by Gemma Shiel from a North London Garage in 2001, Lazy Oaf is a design-led lifestyle brand with a history of doing things our own way. What started with hand-printed T-shirts sold from a stall in East London has now become an established independent brand, celebrating creativity, collaboration, and community.

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our small team in this maternity cover role, working alongside the Finance Director.


Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

  • Obtain approval of invoices from budget holders
  • Post invoices
  • Maintain organised filing of invoices
  • Prepare weekly payment runs for review
  • Submit payments to online banking for authorisation
  • Post and allocate payments
  • Ensure the purchase ledger is kept up to date
  • Investigate any differences and ensure all balances are understood
  • Maintain the AP inbox
  • Proactively respond to internal and external queries, escalating where necessary

Accounts Receivable

  • Post ecommerce and retail sales transactions
  • Prepare wholesale invoices

Banking

  • Post all bank, credit card and petty cash transactions
  • Reconcile bank, credit card and petty cash

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in a similar role
  • Competent user of Sage 200
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Multi-currency experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • An organised approach
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
