Job summary

Cooper Golding is seeking a Finance Assistant in Barnstaple for a hybrid role with 37.5 hours per week. The position offers £28,000–£30,000 per year depending on experience and a supportive, people-focused environment.

You will work within a collaborative team, handling purchase orders, AP/AR, and general finance tasks with scope for greater responsibility. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in finance, a proactive mindset, and strong organisational skills.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in finance or accounts environment.
• Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Able to work autonomously within a supportive finance team.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase orders and invoices.
• Support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Manage debtors and outstanding payments.
• Process and arrange payments.
• Reconcile company credit cards.
• Reconcile bank accounts.
• Set up money transfers.
• Provide general finance administration and support; assist on wider finance tasks as needed.
