Job summary

Anne Corder Recruitment is supporting a growing UK manufacturing business in Peterborough by recruiting a Finance Assistant to join the finance team. The role covers purchase and sales ledgers, bank reconciliations, VAT and month-end processes, with exposure to management accounts and ad-hoc projects.

The ideal candidate will have accounts or finance experience, strong numerical skills, and excellent Excel abilities, plus the motivation to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts or finance roles with ledger and reconciliations.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process and code supplier invoices and credit notes accurately.
• Maintain purchase and sales ledgers and resolve queries.
• Monitor outstanding customer balances and support credit control.
• Process and reconcile daily banking transactions.
• Complete bank, supplier and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close, accruals and prepayments.
• Support VAT and other statutory reporting.
• Maintain accurate financial records within Xero and other systems.
• Assist with management accounts and financial analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and controls.
