Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a hands-on Accounts Assistant to support day-to-day finance processes in a well-established manufacturing business in the UK. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will gain exposure to multiple areas of finance and have opportunities to broaden responsibilities over time.

You will manage ledgers, bank reconciliations and month-end tasks, with a focus on accuracy and timely reporting. This role offers long-term career progression within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts, finance or bookkeeping roles.
• Fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Manufacturing, production or stock-based business experience advantageous.
• Excellent Excel and finance systems skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing purchase and sales ledger activities, ensuring invoices are processed accurately.
• Performing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Supporting month-end processes and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Assisting with VAT returns and other compliance-related activities.
• Monitoring customer and supplier accounts, helping cash flow and financial data on track.
• Working with the company's ERP system to maintain accurate finance and operational information.
• Supporting stock and inventory-related finance activities within a manufacturing environment.
• Analysing financial data, identifying issues and helping improve processes.
