Job summary

Michael Page International Recruitment Limited is seeking a finance assistant for a growing manufacturing business in Wakefield. You will support the Finance Director, maintain controls, and perform day-to-day accounting tasks.

The role offers study support for accounting exams (AAT/CIMA/ACCA), training from the Finance Director, and a clear path to Finance Manager/Company Accountant. Competitive salary and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Recent experience of working in finance.
• Ideally studying an accounting qualification.
• Experience in manufacturing is preferred but not essential.
• Positive attitude towards learning and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts, reporting packs, and analysis.
• Prepare journals, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and business planning through analysis.
• Assist with stock accounting activities and supplier reconciliations.
• Manage end-to-end purchase ledger: invoices, payments, variance investigations.
• Provide finance support across the business and ERP system assistance.
• Contribute to process improvements and maintain compliance within the team.
