Job summary

Sheffield Forgemasters International is offering a 12-month fixed term Finance Assistant role based at our Sheffield site. You will support day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities and assist with payments, reconciliations, and month-end processes.

The role requires accuracy, strong organisation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; payroll administration experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Experience in credit control activities.
• Experience processing high volumes of invoices.
• Knowledge of GRNI processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Payroll administration experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of purchase ledger and sales ledger invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Match receipts to invoices and prepare payments.
• Process non-receipted invoices and resolve queries.
• Reconcile supplier and customer accounts.
• Manage supplier statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice and payment queries.
• Support credit control activities, including chasing overdue payments.
• Assist with month-end processes and payment runs.
• Support the Transactional Finance Supervisor with ad hoc finance activities.
• Provide administrative support to the Payroll Manager when required.
• Contribute to process improvements as part of ongoing systems implementation projects.
