Job summary

Edge Building Products is seeking a Part Time Finance Assistant to join a small Finance team in the UK. You will maintain the purchase ledger, support credit control and handle administrative duties. This role requires accuracy, strong organisation, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Hours are 20–25 per week, with pro rata salary of £28,000–£30,000. You will work closely with internal teams and external customers and suppliers, providing reliable support

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and promptly.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.

  • Raise and process customer invoices accurately and promptly.
  • Issue and manage credit notes in line with procedures.
  • Support credit control activities and chase outstanding payments.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve queries.

Hours: 20 - 25 per week

Role Overview

As part of a small, close-knit Finance team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of purchase ledger management, credit control support, and administrative operations. You will take ownership of maintaining the purchase ledger while supporting both internal teams and external customers and suppliers.

This role requires a high level of accuracy, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger
  • Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Handle payment queries and discrepancies
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records
Sales Ledger & Credit Control Cover
  • Provide cover for the Credit Controller when required
  • Raise and process customer invoices accurately and promptly
  • Issue and manage credit notes in line with company procedures
  • Support credit control activities, including chasing outstanding payments
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve account queries
  • Maintain accurate sales ledger records
