Job description

Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: Chatham, Kent, or Minley, Hampshire or Portsmouth, Hampshire + Hybrid Working Arrangements

Compensation: £29,265 pro rata + Benefits

The role

As a Finance Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in contract performance, focusing on cash generation, budgeting, and forecasting. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Reporting monthly accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
  2. Ensuring accurate and timely billing.
  3. Supporting customer and stakeholder financial data management.
  4. Assisting in pricing activities and governance processes.
  5. Resolving customer billing queries.
  6. Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and contract-specific journals.
  7. Supporting management in monthly cost reviews with operations.
  8. Maintaining data integrity and effective financial controls.

This part-time role involves 22 hours weekly, with regular travel to Portsmouth and home working arrangements.

Essential Experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Experience with finance IT applications (e.g., SAP, Navision, IFS).
  • Experience in process-driven roles.
Qualifications
