The Finance Assistant position is a newly created role supporting the European and Asia sites with financial analysis, reporting, and reconciliation. Based in our UK office, reporting to the Head of Financial Control, this role offers involvement in a variety of tasks across a broad spectrum.
Main Duties
- Handling credit card refunds and disputing chargebacks
- Managing the inbox and responding to emails from internal and external contacts
- Checking and uploading daily trading reports and journals to SAGE
- Reviewing and investigating unallocated cash
- Assisting with invoice processing and reconciling payments received
- Performing weekly and monthly reconciliations between SAGE and various operating/EPOS systems
- Investigating and resolving variances in banking
- Posting bank transactions to SAGE and performing weekly reconciliations, allocating receipts and payments to correct nominal codes
- Processing intercompany charges accurately
- Conducting balance sheet reconciliations
- Performing other ad hoc duties as requested by the line manager
Main Responsibilities
- Preparing and submitting the previous day's sales from the EPOS system to SAGE
- Investigating and resolving banking variances
- Maintaining and reconciling the Fixed Asset Register
- Issuing sales invoices and reconciling received payments
- Performing intercompany reconciliations
- Supporting the year-end audit process
- Conducting balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities
- Posting bank transactions and weekly reconciliations, allocating receipts and payments correctly
- Processing month-end journals
- Processing refunds
- Assisting with the production of weekly accounts packs
- Supporting the Financial Controller with the month-end close
- Performing additional ad hoc duties as needed
What we look for
You are likely AAT part-qualified (or recently started) with 1+ years of experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, multi-site business or a comparable large accounting practice, demonstrating a hands-on approach.
- Ability to work in multi-currencies
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with Sage Accounts
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Organized and methodical approach
