Job summary

ESG, a Chorley-based software and services company serving energy clients, is offering a Finance Assistant Apprenticeship. You will support the finance team with payments, reconciliations and college studies through an AAT programme.

The role is full-time with a hybrid working policy. Initial training requires in-office presence, with 20% of the week allocated for college during term time, and flexible patterns may be discussed.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance or accounting is preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication and listening skills are important.
• Proficiency with Excel, Outlook and Word is expected.
• Experience with accounting software is beneficial but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Process payments and reconciliations.
• Handle supplier and customer invoices and queries.
• Assist with daily finance tasks and reporting.
• Support month-end activities and VAT/compliance where relevant.
• Complete an AAT Apprenticeship course as part of the role.
• Provide general admin support to the finance team.
