Job summary

Silcom Recruitment is seeking a Finance Analyst to join our client’s finance team near the outskirts of Southampton. You will analyze data, drive efficiency, and help identify profit-driving strategies in collaboration with the Finance Controller designate and team.

The role requires a minimum of five years of accounting experience, advanced Excel skills (macros, VBA, and SQL preferred), and strong communication to present findings.

The Role:

Our established client located around the outskirts of Southampton is seeking a Finance Analyst to join their dynamic and forward-thinking team.

In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Finance Controllerdesignate and the wider team to analyse data, identify opportunities to improve departmental efficiency, and uncover profit-driving strategies. Your analytical expertise will directly contribute to cost‑saving measures and the organisation’s overall success.

Responsibilities & Requirements of a Finance Analyst:

Job Duties:

• Analyse financial data, monitor cash flow, and review KPI performance to identify efficiency and profit-driving opportunities.
• Optimisation and continuous improvement experience
• Ensuring accurate reporting and analysis of critical financial metrics
• Conduct detailed reconciliations, prepare management accounts, and support year-end audits.
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller to review reports from the DMS (Keyloop Drive), explain variances, and address issues.
• Support payroll analysis, stock checks, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Enhance and develop financial spreadsheets and working documents to improve departmental processes.
• Communicate findings effectively and contribute to the team’s ongoing development and self‑improvement initiatives.

Our client will require:

A detail-oriented professional with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience and a proven track record in data analysis.

Advanced Excel skills are essential:

Macro writing, VBA and or SQL knowledge preferred

Strong communication and presentation skills:
