Job summary

Ethos Talent is partnering with an established business in Northampton to recruit a Part-Qualified Management Accountant. You will deliver accurate monthly management accounts, support month-end processes and provide meaningful financial information to drive business performance.

You will study toward ACCA or CIMA, with opportunities for progression and development in a collaborative finance team.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA actively working towards qualification.
• Experience in an Assistant Management Accountant or similar finance role.
• Good understanding of management accounts and month-end processes.
• Strong Excel skills and data interpretation ability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure timely reporting.
• Post journals, accruals and prepayments as part of month-end.
• Carry out balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Analyse financial performance and provide variance commentary.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to provide financial information for decisions.
• Assist with cash flow reporting and monitoring.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and controls.
• Support wider finance team with ad hoc analysis and projects.

Ethos Talent is partnering with an established and growing business to recruit a Part-Qualified Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their management accounting experience and take the next step in their career.

Working closely with the wider finance team, you will play an important role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end processes and providing meaningful financial information to help drive business performance.

The Role

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments as part of the month-end process.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Analyse financial performance, identifying variances and providing commentary.
• Work closely with stakeholders across the business to provide financial information and support decision-making.
• Assist with cash flow reporting and monitoring.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and controls.
• Support the wider finance team with ad hoc analysis and projects.

About You

• Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA, actively working towards completing your qualification.
• Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
• Good understanding of management accounts and month-end processes.
• Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret financial information.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Confident communicator who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues across a business.
• Motivated to develop professionally and take on additional responsibility.
